Nesten — Marketing / Content Team Handbook

How to add and manage inventory on the Nesten website (WordPress admin).

Share this with anyone who will publish cities, projects, or properties.

Golden rule: order matters

Always add data in this order:

  1. Cities (and other taxonomies)
  2. Projects (the development / society)
  3. Properties (individual units inside a project)
  4. Optional: Insights posts, testimonials, site settings

If you create a property before its project exists, you cannot link it correctly.

Left menu items you will use most:

  • Projects
  • Properties
  • Cities / Property Types / Possession / Project Statuses / Amenities
  • Appearance → Nesten Settings (phone, hero text, WhatsApp — admin only)

Step 1 — Add a City (do this first)

  1. Go to Projects → Cities (or Properties → Cities — same list).
  2. Add city name, e.g. Mumbai, Pune, Bengaluru.
  3. Slug is auto-created (e.g. mumbai) — leave it unless you know what you are doing.
  4. Click Add New City.

Also add these once (shared lists):

Taxonomy Examples Used on
Property Type Apartment, Villa, Penthouse Properties
Possession Status Ready to Move, Under Construction Properties
Project Status Ongoing, Completed, Upcoming Projects
Amenities Pool, Gym, Clubhouse Projects / Properties

Tip: Add all cities you sell in before bulk-uploading inventory.

Step 2 — Add a Project

  1. Go to Projects → Add New.
  2. Enter the project name as the title (e.g. Lodha World Towers).
  3. Write a short description in the editor / excerpt.
  4. Set Featured Image (main photo for cards and listing).
  5. In Project Details fill:
    • Builder name
    • Builder logo (optional)
    • Short description
    • Starting price (number only, e.g. 12000000)
    • Price display label (what visitors see, e.g. Starting ₹1.2 Cr)
    • Gallery images
    • Brochure PDF (optional)
    • Video URL (optional)
    • Featured checkbox if it should appear on the homepage
  6. In the right sidebar:
    • Assign City
    • Assign Project Status
    • Assign Amenities if relevant
  7. Click Publish.

Checklist before publishing a project

  • Title is the public project name
  • Featured image is clear and landscape
  • City is selected
  • Starting price + display label filled
  • Featured checked only for homepage highlights

Step 3 — Add a Property (unit / listing)

Only after the parent project exists.

  1. Go to Properties → Add New.
  2. Title = unit name visitors will see (e.g. 3 BHK Sky Residence).
  3. Set Featured Image.
  4. In Property Details:
    • Linked Project (required) — pick the project from Step 2
    • Price (number for filters) + Price display label
    • Bedrooms (BHK)
    • Size (sq.ft)
    • Overview
    • Gallery / brochure / video
    • Sold / Featured flags
    • Map fields if available
  5. Right sidebar:
    • City (same as project when possible)
    • Property Type
    • Possession Status
  6. Publish.

Checklist before publishing a property

  • Linked to the correct project
  • City + type + possession set
  • Numeric price filled (filters use this)
  • BHK and size filled
  • Strong featured image

How search & filters use your data

Visitor chooses Must be filled by you
City City taxonomy on project/property
Keyword Title, content, short description
Property type Property Type taxonomy
Budget Numeric price / starting price fields
Bedrooms Bedrooms meta on property
Possession Possession Status taxonomy

Homepage search:

  • Properties tab → Properties listing with filters
  • Projects tab → Projects listing with city / keyword

On listing pages, scrolling loads more results automatically (no page numbers). Filters still work the same way.

Images — what to upload

Place Recommendation
Featured image 1600×1200 or similar, bright, no heavy text overlay
Gallery 5–12 photos: exterior, lobby, unit, amenities, view
Builder logo Transparent PNG preferred

Avoid tiny WhatsApp screenshots. Prefer real site / brochure photography.

Featured content (homepage)

  • Project: check Featured in Project Details
  • Property: check Featured in Property Details

Only mark a few as featured so the homepage stays premium.

Leads / enquiries

When someone submits a form, it appears under Leads in admin.

Marketing should:

  1. Open the lead
  2. Note phone / property / project interest
  3. Call or WhatsApp the prospect
  4. Update status if your CRM fields are available

Do not delete leads unless they are spam.

Insights (blog)

  1. Posts → Add New
  2. Title, content, featured image
  3. Publish

Used for market updates, guides, launch announcements.

Common mistakes

Mistake Result Fix
Property without linked project Incomplete card / broken context Always select Linked Project
Price display filled, numeric price empty Budget filters fail Fill both
Wrong city on property Search misses the listing Match project city
No featured image Grey “No image” placeholder Upload featured image
Publishing as Draft Not on website Click Publish

Suggested weekly workflow

  1. Confirm new cities / types if expanding markets
  2. Add or update Projects first
  3. Add all Properties under those projects
  4. Mark 2–4 Featured items
  5. Spot-check front-end:
    • Home search → city
    • Properties page filters
    • Projects page filters
    • Single property / project pages

Quick “first day” setup (new market)

  1. Add city: Example City
  2. Add types: Apartment, Villa
  3. Add possession: Ready to Move, Under Construction
  4. Add one project with image + price + city
  5. Add 3 properties linked to that project
  6. Open the site home → search that city → confirm results

Need help from tech?

Ask the developer / admin only for:

  • New user logins (Nesten Agent role)
  • Site phone / WhatsApp / hero text (Nesten Settings)
  • Permalink or “page not found” issues
  • Bulk import of many listings

For day-to-day inventory, marketing can work entirely in Projects and Properties.
